apolaire is the commercial brand of Chaff SAS, a French R&D provider specialised in supercritical CO₂ extraction for perfumery, cosmetics and food flavouring. Our team combines 25+ years of industrial experience and 12+ years of academic research to turn a plant material into a documented, compliant and industrializable ingredient — in under 3 months.

Our mission

Going further than simple extraction services. apolaire designs proprietary supercritical CO₂ recipes calibrated to the plant material and the target end use: fragrance, cosmetic active, food aromatic concentrate.

Each project delivers a complete dossier — protocol, technical report with annotated GC-MS chromatogram, economic report ready for scale-up — readable by R&D teams and decision-makers alike. This dual readability is our signature.

A contract-production offer is planned for 2027 onwards to support clients from brief to industrialisation.

Supercritical CO₂, eco-extraction and chemical analysis expert

Lecturer at ISIPCA · 12+ years of research

PhD in analytical chemistry, Cyrille has spent more than a decade mastering supercritical CO₂ extraction: deep understanding of pressure-temperature parameters, selectivity by fractionation, and fine analytical characterisation (GC-MS, HPLC-MS).

He teaches at ISIPCA (the International Higher Institute of Perfumery, Cosmetics and Food Aromatics), the reference institution training the future leaders of European perfumery and cosmetics. At apolaire, he leads R&D and the formulation of proprietary extraction recipes.

More than 25 years in the natural ingredients industry, including a role as Global Head of Natural Ingredients — Fragrance & Cosmetic at three major sector companies: Crodarom, Symrise and Biolande.

Deep knowledge of major fragrance and cosmetics houses' specifications (Robertet, Mane, Sophim, Synarome, Payan Bertrand) and of independent composers. At apolaire, he frames client briefs, sourcing strategy and ingredient positioning.
